The mission of the library program for the North Fayette Valley school district  is to provide resources and tools that will assist students and staff in becoming effective and discriminating users of information, to encourage a pattern of lifelong learning, and foster a love of reading.

The school libraries offer learning services, books, and online resources that enable all members of the school community to become critical thinkers and effective and ethical users of information in all formats and media.

All elementary students, grades PreK-5, complete a progression of lessons in the library on a 6 day cycle throughout the year. The NFV Libraries Curriculum follows a combination of the Iowa Core 21st Century Skills, ISTE Standards, and the National School Library Standards.

The current K-5 NFV Library Standards can be found here.
